Aziz is Engineer, Graduate from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, Paris. Between 1987 and 1991, he held various positions in two steel manufacturing companies, Tunisacier, and Ilva Maghreb affiliate of the Italian conglomerate Ilva Group (Ex Italsider). From 1991 to 1994 he was Managing Director of both companies, and an Ilva International staff member. Aziz MEBAREK is the co-founder and Executive Partner of Tuninvest/Africinvest Group since its inception in 1994. He participated in the capital raising of ten different Private Equity funds covering North and Sub-Saharan, with a total of more than $500 million under management. He conducted numerous deal structuring, investments and exit transactions. He acted as a board and strategic committee member in several portfolio companies covering various sectors in Tunisia, North and Sub-Saharan Africa He is the former Vice Chairman of the Africa Venture Capital Association, and Co-Founder and former Chairman of the think tank, Association Tunisienne des Grandes Ecoles (ATUGE).
