AVCA hosted its 8th Annual Conference, "Africa, the Growth Continent for Private Equity", on November 15-17, 2009 in Cairo, co-hosted by Citadel Capital. Over 300 participants from thoughout Europe, Africa, the US and the Middle East enjoyed two full days of thought provoking and informative discussions on the role of private equity in Africa's development, and the still large potential of the asset class to flourish throughout the continent. The conference provided not only an opportunity for GP's and LP's to meet, but also provided an exchange of ideas and contacts vital for the growth of the market. Senior executives from a global cast of PE firms contributed to the full programme which included the following topics:
